Mark Z. Jacobson of Stanford University: The case for a fully renewable, all-purpose energy system

On October 15, CCL Toronto and friends hosted Mark Z. Jacobson of Stanford University: The case for a fully renewable, all-purpose energy system. Over 150 Torontonians learned that it is possible to transition the world to renewables by 2030.

Panel discussion

Moderated by Tyler Hamilton, Toronto Star columnist, editor-in-chief of Corporate Knights magazine, energy blogger and author of Mad Like Tesla.

Presented jointly by Post Carbon Toronto, Citizens Climate Lobby, Transition Toronto and the Southern Ontario Centre for Atmospheric Aerosol Research.

Featuring

Mark Z. Jacobson, of Stanford University

Mark has demonstrated why a fully renewable grid is the best way to meet the world's climate change goals, and why we should stop wasting time and money on things like carbon capture, biofuels and nuclear power, and focus instead on breezes, rivers and sunshine.

Ralph Torrie

Ralph has worked in energy planning in Ontario for over three decades.  He will talk about the pitfalls of past energy planning and why we need to avoid repeating the costly mistakes of the past.

Introductions by Kathryn Tait of Post Carbon Toronto and Cheryl McNamara of Citizen's Climate Lobby
